Julian TREVELYAN Windsor Castle  (1969)
Etching and aquatint in four colours, from two steel-faced copper plates, on handmade Hayle Mill Linen 68 wove paper. Signed Julian Trevelyan in pencil and numbered from the limited edition of 75 (there were also 7 artist's proofs A/P). Printed by Agatha Sorel. Referenced in Turner Catalogue Raisonne of Prints, 142. Plate size: 352 x 465mm.
In fair to good condition, with the price reflecting this: there is some discolouration in the upper left margin not affecting the image and faint matt burn all around the image just touching the bottom of the signature - see photos. Very light, even overall discolouration and a faint tape mark on the top sheet edge. This print will frame up nicely and the colours and image are strong, bright and unspoiled.
An extremely rare early Julian Trevelyan London print with no previous auction records that we can find. A colourful, fun and instantly recognisable scene by this ever-collectable modern British painter and printmaker.
