Edward BAWDEN Palace of Westminster  (1966)

£2,195 GET 20% OFF AT CHECKOUT

From Nine London Monuments commissioned by Editions Alecto in 1966, an original linocut in colours on wove paper. Signed in pencil lower right, titled and inscribed 'artists proof out of series', one of 25 artist's proofs aside from the limited edition of 75.

In very good condition with some light discolouration to the paper around the image and some possible fading/marks in the dark blue ink at the very bottom of the image. The sheet has been cut unevenly not affecting the print, and it will mount and frame perfectly. Image size 512mm x 662mm.

An excellent example of Bawden's renowned attention to architectural detail, and an extremely rare and collectable interpretation of this London monument: London has never looked better than in Bawden's mid-Century linocuts!
