Original etching from one copper plate on J Green mould-made wove paper. Signed David Hockney in pencil and numbered from the edition of 75 (there were also 16 proofs). Printed by Shirley Clement at The Print Shop, Amsterdam and published by Petersburg Press.. Referenced in Tokyo, 117 and Scottish Arts Council, 125, plate size: 680mm x 535mm. In very good condition with full margins and deckled sheet edges, the very occasional tiny, light mark in the margins, and very faint, barely noticeable even discolouration to the paper. An exceptionally large and beautiful portrait of Mo, Hockney's frequent sitter, giving maximum opportunity to demonstrate the artist's incredible quality of line.

David Hockney met Mo McDermott while studying at the Royal College of Art in London in  1961. Mo, who was a sculptor, quickly became Hockney's model and latterly his assistant.
