Freud a Tete d'Escargot from the 1974 portfolio After 50 Years of Surrealism. An original drypoint etching in colours on  Japon nacre paper with deckled edges (other editions were printed on Arches wove). Signed Dali in pencil lower right, an artist's proof (Epreuve d'Artiste - EA) aside from the limited edition of 230. Published by Trans World Art, New York, with their blindstamp lower left and their printed copyright text to the reverse of the sheet. Printed by Ateliers Rigal, Paris. Referenced in Prestel, 672/Field 74-8G, 94. Provenance: from the collection of Denise Rigal with signature and annotation on the reverse. Plate size: 400mm x 300mm

In very good condition. There is slight discolouration of the paper, more noticeable towards the sheet edges, one or two tiny stains at sheet edges otherwise and will frame up beautifully. A rare and truly wonderful original signed print by Salvador Dali - the absolute master of Surrealism
