CRW NEVINSON London from Parliament Hill  (1923)
Original drypoint etching on FJ Head & Co watermarked laid paper. Signed CRW Nevinson in pencil lower right. From the edition of 75, without numbering. Image size: 250mm x 352mm. Referenced in Jonathan Black,C.R.W. Nevinson, The Complete Prints pp 52-53. In remarkably good and bright overall condition, with apparently full margins that are clean and bright other than a stain at top right sheet edge from previous tape and barely discernable discolouration towards the top of the sheet. There are some more recent conservation-standard tabs attached to the reverse. The print is alternatively titled at the lower sheet edge in pencil, possibly by a different hand, London from Hampstead Heath C.R.W Nevinson
A particularly beautiful and dynamic image of London giving us a true glimpse of the City in the 1920s with St Paul's visible on the skyline, the style of printmaking tentatively exploring the cubist manner that came to be associated with Nevinson's art
