Lynn CHADWICK Study for Elektra  (1969)
Paper size: 500mm
x 645mm | UNFRAMED
Original drawing in pen and coloured wash on fine, lightly textured Canson drawing paper. Signed Chadwick and dated '69
A wonderful, original drawing by this bankable British artist and sculptor
Around 1968, Lynn Chadwick created works that used a matt patina over some of the bronze, but with faces or chests burnished to a high golden sheen, a technique already seen in works of sculptors including Armitage. This method appeared in Chadwick’s Elektras and according to Chadwick stemmed from his desire 'to get a bit of contrast and colour'
