John PIPER Newgale Chapel  (1966)
Paper size: 810mm
x 590mm | UNFRAMED
Original lithograph in colours printed on wove paper, signed John Piper lower right in pencil and numbered from the limited edition of 75. Printed by Curwen Studio and published by Marlborough Fine Art. Referenced (incorrectly?) in Levinson, 174, as Newgate Chapel, although we believe the scene to be Penycwm Chapel in NEWGALE, Pembrokeshire, Wales. The Tate Gallery holds a photographic image of Penycwm Chapel by John Piper in its archives.
In very good, bright condition, with very slight crease on the top edge, well away from the image.
An absolutely beautiful, rare and wonderfully unusual John Piper print in red and blacks.
