Joe TILSON Transparency, Clip o Matic Lips  (1967)
Screenprint on acetate with metallised film over paper. Signed Joe Tilson in pencil upper left and dated 1967, one of several artists proofs aside from the limited edition of 70. Printed at Kelpra Studios with their stamp to reverse and published by Malborough Graphics, London. Referenced in Di Martino Tilson, the Graphic Works 1963-2009, 54
In very good condition for this print: there are a few light scratches on the acetate with slight handling marks at the edges of the paper. There is also some glue visible at the very bottom edge of the window - hardly noticeable. The ink and foil are both in good condition. The paper and acetate have detached as is often the case with this print
Clip-O-Matic Lips was chosen for the Dutton Pictureback book 'Pop Art, Object and Image' by Christopher Finch (1968). It is an iconic 1960s Pop Art image and it is becoming increasingly hard to find this rare original print
