Richard Wright Prints for Sale
The artist Richard Wright was born in London in 1960. He moved to Scotland at a young age, and continues to work there based in Glasgow. He attended Edinburgh College of Art from 1978 to 1982 and studied at Glasgow School of Art between 1993 and 1995. Richard Wright’s work combines graphic imagery and intricate patterning with typographic fonts and geometric shapes. His work ranges from traditional prints made on poster paper to the more elaborate and complex large-scale works that can include thousands of hand drawn and painted marks. Working predominantly with paint and gold leaf applied directly on to the walls of galleries and often overlooked architectural spaces, many of Wright’s pieces are transient in nature, and often painted over at the end of his exhibitions. Richard Wright was named the 25th winner of the Turner prize in 2009, for his spectacular gold-leaf fresco on the walls of Tate Britain's second room
