Dick BRUNA Miffy with Basket (Nijntje met Mandje)  (1985)

Original screenprint in colours on wove paper. Signed Dick Bruna in pencil and numbered from the limited edition of 150.

In very good condition with strong, bright colours and never framed. One tiny, barely noticeable smudge to the left of Miffy, and a very shallow, barely noticeable handling crease to the right of Miffy. Authenticated by well-known gallery Bos fine Art, Utrecht, Netherlands. We are unsure of the exact age of this Miffy signed print but would estimate it to be from the 1980s.

Ever since Dick Bruna first created Miffy in 1955, she has endeared herself to generations of young children. She is now one of the best-loved children's characters of all time. It is extremely rare to find hand-signed prints by this wonderful illustrator (they come up for sale at auction only very occasionally), and we think this is one of the best we've seen with Miffy's instantly recognisable bold orange dress and her bright yellow basket, Guaranteed to start a conversation anywhere it is hung!
