Barbara HEPWORTH Sun and Moon  (1969)

SOLD Get an Email Alert if it's listed again

An original lithograph printed in colours on Barcham Green handmade wove paper from Hepworth's Twelve Lithographs series. Signed Barbara Hepworth in pencil lower right and numbered from the 'overseas' edition of 30 (plus 7 proofs, and there was also a 'home' edition of 60). Printed by Curwen Studios with their blindstamp lower left, and published by Marlborough Fine Art, London.

In good condition with strong colour, some noticeable staining to the reverse which is stable and not affecting the front other than barely noticeably at the bottom of the sheet, slight smudging to the pencil signature and numbering, a couple of professionally mended slits to the left deckled edge of the sheet, otherwise very bright with full margins and perfectly suitable for float-framing if desired. A wonderfully simple yet eyecatching signed print by Dame Barbara Hepworth who continues to be one of the most collectable names in modern British art.
